Wilmslow Park Phase II
Wilmslow Park Phase II
Comprising both new build and refurbishment this project combined the construction of student apartments with the retention and revitalisation of the iconic façade of the Daimler House Building.
In this busy location the safety of the general public was a key factor and Ocon successfully put in place extensive pedestrian and vehicular control measures.
Designed to create interest through a diversity of form and heights ranging from three to six storeys, the building project required careful planning to ensure the correct sequencing and detailing of the many and varied façade treatments.
The structure was constructed using a steel frame, with a variety of elevation treatments from facing brickwork and Kingspan cladding through to rain screen and elements of render.
In addition to the accommodation provided for over 300 students provided by the scheme, the main Wilmslow Road elevation affords a number of retail units in this busy shopping and restaurant district.
