Sutton Bonington Sports Centre
This project involved the construction of a state of the art sports centre, developed on a green field site adjacent to the existing outside sports facilities already available at the University of Nottingham, Sutton Bonington Campus.
The centre provides facilities for the students; On the ground floor a 800m² multi use sports hall with incorporated spectator area, squash courts, associated changing and storage facilities; and on the first floor there are cardio vascular fitness studios, dance and aerobic studios and extensive viewing galleries.
The building was constructed using a steel frame, with a variety of different elevation treatments including render, various types of cladding and extensive glazing to the entrance area.
Through good communication with the University we were able to interpret their requirements from an early stage in this project and we were able to offer some environmentally friendly alternatives. This in turn lead to delivery on time and budget.
