Abertay Student Residences
The 498-bedspace complex will take 20 months to build and is planned to be ready in time for the 2010/11 academic year. Around 10 jobs are expected to be created immediately, with many more once construction gets fully under way.
Due to the nature of the site significant remediation works are being undertaken to the existing wall at the back of the site. The building is a fully piled concrete frame with external cladding of glazed walls and feature brickwork.
Using accommodation clusters, Ocon have integrated pre- fabricated pods in all bathrooms.
The rooms will be arranged in seven and five-bedded flats and will be ‘badged’ with the University logo as part of the Abertay campus.
"The Parker Street building will be a brand-new, contemporary accommodation complex located almost next door to the city centre campus and fitted out to a very high standard."
Professor Nicholas Terry,
Vice-Principal
